Change to M&S Code of Practice on Printed Allergen Information

We have been made aware of changes to the M&S code of practice relating to the printing of allergen information on pots, films and sachets. With immediate effect, suppliers to M&S must print allergen information on all pots and/or sachets; and for all sleeved products, the product allergens must be printed on the film.

Wayne Johnson, ex-technical manager and OAL Autocoding Manager explains how manufacturers will need to comply with these changes:

"It's likely that most sites will need to purchase new printers to be able to print the appropriate allergen information on films, pots and sleeves. As part of the code of practice, it's important that the allergen information is controlled centrally and not printed manually."
